The typical age range of Kids Kehillah participants are ages 4-13, however, we will work with you to choose the appropriate classes for your child’s developmental level to ensure a good experience for all participants.

Archery, 3rd – 6th grade – Inclusion
Learn to shoot like your favorite fictional heroes in a safe and fun environmnet! Cass will be kpt fun and exciting with new challenges and obstacles. Class will be held in the woods at our archery range rain or shine.
Instructors: JCC Physical Education Staff, $80 Members, $120 General Public

The Karate I class focuses on skills mixed with games to help kids learn how to take turns, do controlled karate kicks and blocks and relax through meditation.
The Karate II class is for participants who need a little less support to follow directions. Karate II focuses on karate as a means to self-control. Classes are held downstairs in JCC’s Dance Studio. Attire: Socks, Sweatpants and T-Shirt.

Adaptive Aquatics
Aquatics students receive 1:1 instruction in acquiring water safety skills, swimming skills and self-confidence. Instruction is customized to fit the individual’s physical and developmental abilities. This is an 8 week class. Any missed lessons cannot be made up.
Classes available Friday and Saturday afternoons. Other afternoons might be available, contact Kim Levy for availability.

Balloon Animals, Inclusion
People make art out of many materials. Join us for this classic favorite. Each week the children will learn different skills associated with making balloon animals and will move at their own pace. Each child will go home with their very own balloon animal making kit at the end of the session. This is an inclusion class.

Building with Balsa Wood – Inclusion
Kids love to build and create! The children will use balsa wood and glue to create towers, bridges, cars and so much more! We will set up a display of the children’s projects at the JCC. This is an inclusion class.

Everyone Can Draw and Paint Art Class
Working with the uniquely gifted instructors from 1000 Cranes Art Studio everyone who can draw a curve and a line can create art. In this class you will use a variety of Art mediums to create master pieces! This class will give you plenty of things to show off to your family and friends.

Drum Lessons – Individual
One-on-one thirty minute drum lessons from a world traveled percussionist who is patient and understanding of different learning styles.

Kids Social Club
Students work on identifying feelings within themselves and others and what elicits these feelings, making decisions as a team, and perspective-taking. These social skills will be woven into each week’s activities. Children’s special interests and needs will be taken into consideration. Level I 1st grade to 3rd grade. Level II 4th to 6th grade

Guitar Lessons
Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced guitar lessons for the special needs learner.

We can Sing Chorus
Learn the techniques to sing including breath control, the difference between your head and chest voice and how to warm up your voice before you sing. This class is open to singers of all levels and will include individual and group work. Age 13 and up

Lil’ Mitts TBall
Being involved in t-ball is a great way for kids to learn hand and eye coordination and team work. We promise that your child will not have to wait 15 minutes in the outfield chasing butterflies while waiting for his or her 30 second turn “at bat”. No! Here, they’ll be engaged and active whild all the while learning the basic skills of t-ball.
More Intro to Drama – Inclusion
Start getting ready for Youth Theater at the JCC in this program specifically designed for Kindergarten and 1st graders. The kids will learn about performance as well as about all the other things that go into making a great show. The class will be followed by a small performance by the children. This is an inclusion class.

Music with Rusty
This certified music therapist has a unique way of engaging all children through music. He can create a song from whatever your child says, utters or does. Come and experience the way Rusty can find the music within your child.

Individual Voice Lessons
Learn how to use breath control, pitch and rhythm to sing along with your favorite songs. Voice lessons can be used to support speech therapy by working with the motivation of music and lyrics to improve articulation and fluency.

Recyclable Art
Participants learn how to use things they can find around the house and garage to make works of art. Robots, igloos, garden fixtures and more!

Sculpting in Different Mediums – Inclusion
How do we make sculpture? Most kids would say out of clay. But what about wire? sand? wood? We will learn about common sculpting materials and how they work. The children will make projects representing each material. This is an inclusion class.

Zumbatonics
Zumbatomic classes are high-energy and kid friendly fitness parties packed with speically choreographed routines and the latest music, like hip-hop, reggaeton and cumbia. Zumbatonic classes increase focus, self-confidence and social skills, boost metabolism and improve coordination. Come dance your sillies out and learn some fun dance moves. Groups are mixed age (K to 4th) and we have one big party.
